Youth together with Bakari Sellers

Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon and United Way of Westchester brings you, Bakari Sellers, political analyst on CNN, who recently released his first children’s book, ‘Who are your people?’.

Inspired by his three year-old twins, Sadie and Stokely, Sellers wrote this book so that Black and Brown children could look at the pictures and words in the book and see themselves in it.  He believes that it is important for them to take pride in their history, dream big, and dream with their eyes wide open to change the world.  With respect to other kids, Sellers hopes that the book will help them understand others and bridge the empathy deficit that exists in America today.
